In order to understand Maloa, one must first get to know the designer, Charlotta Hülphers.

Her interests for color and form go back a long time. As a small child she painted uninterrupted and found herself interested in everything creative.

” I believed actually already as a small child that I would become jewelry designer, creating in various forms has been a red thread throughout my life, she tells”.

After 3 years' upper-secondary studies in the media, she studied a total of 9 years in college and university, including Österlens adult education college, Lund 's Art/Design school and Denmark 's Design School .

” To train in creative subjects for so many years has not only made me a better designer. It has also given me an important understanding of processes and above all strength to use that creative energy I have within myself, in the best possible ways, she tells.”

n the autumn of 2007, during her ongoing studies on Denmark 's Design School , she decided to start the jewelry brand, Maloa.

” I had designed and created jewelry for several years, but in line with that the demand grew, I felt that it was time to invest more energy and to start a company.”

The brand grew quickly, to a large extent through bloggers, who lifted up Maloa as a new exciting brand.

” That Maloa would grow so fast, I had never dared to hope for, but clearly we fulfilled some niche missing in the marketplace. We have always advertised ourselves as a fashion brand and my signature has been that I love to work with a lot of color, Charlotta says”

During 2009 Maloa has  linked up with big collaborative partners and an international outreach  is planned.

” Wearing a piece of jewelry from Maloa is not about age or personality. I design for all who want to feel beautiful, Charlotta completes.”
